WHEELING, W.Va., July 16 – The Wheeling University officials and its Board of Trustees have initiated work on a new strategic plan that will help guide the institution into the future.
“We have begun to review the current strategic plan, noting achievements as well as areas still in progress. This evaluation will serve as a blueprint as we build our new five-year strategy,” said Dr. Andrea Bucklew, University Chief of Staff. Dr. Bucklew is leading the efforts to draft a new five-year plan.

The plan, she said, will touch on every aspect of the University from student engagement to financial sustainability.
“This plan will also reaffirm our commitment to providing a high-quality Catholic education in the state of West Virginia,” Dr. Bucklew added.
Serving on the planning team are members of the faculty, students, administration and the Board. The group held its first session recently and will continue to meet over the course of the next few months to draft strategic goals and determine how to best achieve the goals, she explained.
Once complete, the strategic plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees for review and final approval.
Dr. Bucklew said the University would like to have the plan complete and ready to implement in early 2025.
