Wheeling University Student Receives Scholarship from Woman’s Club of Wheeling

WHEELING, W.Va., June 4 — The Woman’s Club of Wheeling has awarded one Wheeling University student a scholarship for the upcoming academic year.

Selected to receive a $500 scholarship from the organization is Kaitlyn Cochran. Cochran is an Education major from Moundsville, West Virginia.

“We are grateful to the Woman’s Club for supporting Kaitlyn as she pursues her degree in Education,” said Dianna M. Vargo, Ed.D., Wheeling University president. “Support from local benefactors provides Wheeling University students with valuable financial assistance.”

Each semester, the Education and Libraries Committee of the Woman’s Club of Wheeling encourages Ohio Valley students to apply for a $500 scholarship to attend a local university or college.

Cochran will serve as student teacher in Fall 2025.
