Senior Awarded NASA Grant

WHEELING, WV

Rising senior Margaret Childers has been awarded a NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Research Fellowship of $4,500 for the 2019-2020 school year. She will work with Dr. Julie Osland of the Psychology Department to research the effects of peppermint scent administration on academic performance. Maggie and fellow classmates recently returned from Paris to present their research findings at an international symposium. “I am honored to have received this NASA Research Fellowship to support the research I will be conducting later this year. I am excited to learn from this wonderful opportunity and to further my research experience here at Wheeling Jesuit University.” Childers shared.

More than 200 WJU students have received research funding from the WV Space Grant Consortium over the last 25 years.
